TANDEM EMPOWERS: CHARITY OF CHOICE

If you've poked around this website a bit, you probably know that Tandem is committed to giving back, via our "Tandem Empowers" initiatives.  In addition to donating services to ambitious yet disadvantaged individuals who are struggling to find meaningful work, we donate a portion of profits to humanitarian organizations that believe in the potential of people. I am very happy to announce that, this year, Tandem's humanitarian organization of choice is Mercy Corps.  You can learn more about the work that they do by clicking here.  To give you a preview, Mercy Corps believes in "alleviating suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities." Good stuff!

I have visited some of the poorest places on Earth and even had the opportunity to do a long-term volunteer project in South America. I know - from first hand experience - what a difference meaningful support can make in the lives of those who need it most.  That's where organizations such as Mercy Corps enter into the picture.  Mercy Corps is also great about dotting i's and crossing t's. A top charity evaluator, Charity Navigator, gives Mercy Corps a top rating (four stars), and over 89% of Mercy Corps' resources have gone directly to programs that help those in need.
