Q: My company is down-sizing and I want out before things get worse. In interviews, do I run the risk of being seen as someone who isn’t committed?
A: If you sense that it's time to go, it's definitely time to go. Currently, many of my clients are proactively updating their resumes, posting to job boards, and applying for new jobs in more stable industries. Potential employers always like to see candidates who demonstrate that they are on top of their careers. Waiting around while your organization crumbles is no longer a positive sign.
