Happy New Year! I hope this finds you feeling hopeful about 2009 as you ponder what the months ahead might look like for you.
It’s clear from my work on the other side of the table - as a Human Resources Professional - that competition for open positions is surely going to intensify as jobs continue to be cut. That being the case, make sure that your plan of action is in place - whether or not you are currently employed. If you are content with your work and able to ride out this bumpy wave, what are you doing to cement the fact that you are adding value to your organization (and how are you ensuring that your boss knows it!)? Conversely, if you are transitioning into something new, how are you planning to stand out from the competition? If you stay on top of that which you can control, you’ll be far ahead of the crowd.
